So what are we about, and why do we want to do a blog? Well, with the rise of organic, local, and sustainable food culture in the U.S., we wanted to share our experience with people who are just beginning to exploring these new options for eating. We also are here for those people who are deep into the effort to revitalize our food culture, but who might want to read our silly stories anyway.
To help get people started and to encourage them to try new things, we’ll craft posts around a variety of topics. We’ll show you the ins and outs of knowing more about where your food comes from, spotlighting farmers and farming practices, gardening and home production, and how we cook and share food with friends.
We’ll also try to dispel a key myth about food culture: that it is only for the wealthy. They call it home economics for a reason, folks, and we are here to share our experiences about an empowered relationship to food that is there for everyone. We can take better care of each other, the earth, and our own bodies all while filling up on amazing eats all year long!
So, for those about to chop some vegetables, we salute you.
